Following These Hints Can Help You Prevent Bruising Easily Altogether!

By Jan Doan

Some people just tend to bruise easily. It's embarrassing. Maybe it will prevent someone from wearing that special dress to an important function, all because an unsightly bruise is showing in a strategic place. It's a pain. You may want to learn a little about how to reduce bruising, with even a little prevention advice thrown in.

There's a lot of information out there on how to treat bruises that have already occurred. Hundreds of websites, actually. probably thousands. There's not nearly as many sites on how to reduce or prevent bruising from happening in the first place. That information should be gratefully accepted by those suffering or those who know someone who is.

A nickname for the British is 'Limeys', which they got from their habit of adding lime juice to their beer or ale (sailors, mostly). The lime was used as a preventative measure against scurvy, which is a disease that attacks people who have a Vitamin C deficiency in their diet. Limes have a lot of Vitamin C. Any foods high in this nutrient should be on the diet of someone who bruises easily. By the way, excessive bruising is a recognized symptom of scurvy.

Citrus bioflavonoids show promise in reducing bruising and double-blind studies have confirmed positive effects in people who have fragile capillaries. The bilberry plant has also been shown to have remedial effects on bruising. Bromelain, which comes from certain plant groups that include pineapple, contains enzymes that can digest the blood proteins that cause a bruise to form.

Another major player in the anti-bruising campaign is Vitamin K. It's long been known to be important in the blood clotting process, but it's also been found to help strengthen blood vessel walls. One way to make sure you get the right vitamins in your diet is to take vitamin supplements. Get supplement compounds that contain the ingredients above.

Certain medications such as antidepressants and anticoagulants can foster chronic bruising. Even adult strength aspirin and ibuprofen can cause problems here. If you're taking any of these things regularly and suffer from frequent bruising you should consult your doctor and get his advice. Don't stop taking your medications please... Only the doctor can tell you to do that.

There are some powerful antioxidants available, such as grape seed extract and pycnogenol, which have been shown to be effective in bruise prevention. If you already have a bruise starting to appear rub in some arnica gel or cream a couple times a day and it should heal faster and not discolor as much as normal. You can use a yellow-based concealer to help minimize the looks of the bruise. Since a bruise's coloration is red and blue, yellow, which is opposite these on the color wheel, does a good job of covering up bruises.

There's something on the market that has succeeded in combining most of the ingredients mentioned above, known to help this problem directly, and put them in capsules named Bruises Be Banned. By taking the capsules three times a day, you know you're getting the proper amounts of Vitamin C and K, as well as bromelain, bilberry, bioflavonoids, and a special form of sulfur knows as MSM. This is becoming an effective option that folks all over the world are choosing to help stop bruising easily completely.
